We know that two of the children

were taken out, Fay Bromley immediately above and Tony Flood imred-

iately below No.1 bridge. We know also that there were three other

childrencarried down the nullah. It is possible that they may have

been a little in front of these two. It was suggested to you

gentlemen, it need not necerearily be taken as conclusive evidence,

that the boy and girl whom Mre. Fairburn eam thrown over were Fay

Bromley and Tony Flood but it may be that as she had no suspicion

that more were involved she may have jumped to that conclusion

which is a natural one but not necessarily correct.

We know that just about the rame time that Fay Branley and

Tony Flood were taken out the other children were being watched

the extent of watching was really remarkable the distance of

only 56 ft. left unaccounted for. They were being watched the whole

way down and we have been told that they came down Norman Stone,

Michael Pine, Mary Pine, and the Chinese man.

That is the order given by the ladier on No.3 bridge. That is

confirmed by the evidence of the foreman of the army contractor who

said "I saw a little boy coming down I told my coolie to look

after him" and we know that war liorman Stone. The coolie you will

remember managed to rescue the boy.

less. There is at least one point it was pointed out by rone of

you gentlemen yesterday there is a coneiderable slowing up in the

strength of the current on the stretch between No.3 bridge and

the side when we get to No.3 bridge than there are above No.1 bridge.

We come to the point where we have Michael and Mary Pine and

a Chinese man - the only three left. Their position would appear
